Remember that song from 1967, “Feelin’ Groovy”? (Harper’s Bizarre) We’d sung it in music class in grade school. It made no sense to my 11 year old brain, but the lyrics did make a solid impression and years later, I found myself humming the tune whilst making this drawing. When you’re a snail, time doesn’t really mean anything, does it? Perhaps it only matters when it’s getting that time to curl up under the leaves when it gets too cold. There’s a time to eat when you’re hungry and time to sleep when you’re tired. Perhaps we really can take a cue from the snails and tune into one’s body.
Be good to yourself; slow down a bit so you can smell the flowers.
You can purchase this as a print from ImageKind. I recommend the Hannemuhle Pearl finish paper.
