a wall of paintings and drawings done by Kristin Kest displayed at the 2022 illuXCon show

My 2022 wall space at IlluXCon!

IlluXCon 2022

November 10, 2022

Want to attend a cool art show? If you’re lucky enough to live on the east coast, have I got a fun thing for you to do with your third weekend in October. Since 2007, Pat and Jeannie Wilshire have organized an exhibition of artists for IlluXCon, a collectors’ show of fantasy art, which they started in Altoona PA. It’s now hosted by The GoggleWorks venue in Reading PA.

A ticket for the whole show (which starts on a Wednesday evening and goes through Sunday afternoon) covers the lectures, drawing sessions, and more. You can also get a 1-day pass on the weekend. Either way, you’ll have an “art head” and be utterly spent having talked to so many fabulous artists and fellow attendees, and seen so much great work but it’ll be worth it. So many people from different walks of life and professions love fantasy art which means that the conversations are wide and varied.

If you LOVE fungi and mushroom hunting you must come visit me so we can swap stories!

My wall space in 2019— Super fun to see the difference between then and this year :D
