Current New Work: March 2025

March 21, 2025

I’m going to try something different.

In the past I’d devoted a lot of time posting my new ideas on my social media accounts, but it was recently pointed out to me that it’s way more important to write and post directly to the people who took the time to sign up for my newsletter and get my blog in their RSS feed (I mean, duh, right? Sometimes I can be a bit dense but eventually, I get it). So I’ll be attempting to stick to short blog posts once or twice a week to fill you in on my studio work as a regular thing.

The rectangular box above is one of 4 currently drying on my shelf. I’m calling it a phylactery of a sort which is a container for spells or other relics, or a place to store the soul of a lich. It’s a vessel for magic, intentions, and keepsakes. What special things would you store in it?

The other new WIPS here are yarn bowls. A wonderful supporter approached me with a request to make her a yarn bowl with lots of monsterful eyes. These two are made from a new white clay body but I think I’ll want to make a few others out of a more plastic clay.

I’ll post again when they’re fired and complete!
