Hetta Monsterpot
Hetta Monsterpot
This is Hetta. She's a uniquely made, handbuilt stoneware monsterpot with a lid for a head and made to make you smile even before you've had your morning walk. This sturdy tri-footed stoneware pot is glazed with a complex layer of pale teal with an unusual crystalline formation on its surface which develops in the kiln when the glaze is cooling down to around 900 degrees F. It reminds me of the pale lichen that grows on granite here in Pennsylvania. The hand-applied surface textures give this ceramic a satisfying (and reassuring) feel in the hand. The interior is glazed clear and is food-grade safe.
Pots are good for all manner of loose items like pet treats, coins, keepsakes— and yes, butter because the lid is a good fit. This piece is also a good keepsake vessel for the ashes of your beloved furry family.
Hetta believes that you have to prioritize taking care of yourself before you take care of others.
(Standard 101 Buff Stoneware clay, fired to Cone 6 (about 2200 deg F). All glazes are home-created in Kest Pottery Studio.)
