Home Number Tiles

I made many of these between 2019 and 2021 and each is special and unique~ just like the homeowners. Red outdoor-rated stoneware, 10” x 15”h; various glazes. No part of these tiles were ever made from a cast; they’re all original hand-sculpted bas-relief work.

Chicken Planter

2022, red stoneware, 14’ x 10”, manganese wash, satin black, blue, and green glazes. My client was a “chicken-mom” and wanted something fun for her garden.

Forest Spirit

14”h; terra cotta redware with copper oxide washes. A client, whose dad had passed on, wanted to honor his memory by having his visage sculpted in the form of a Forest Spirit.

Laurie’s Moonpot

A dear friend’s family gifted their mom a moonpot whose daughter had died unexpectedly. The glaze is very special; it’s made with Laurie’s ashes. Read more here about how these are made with a paddle + compass.

Mike’s Mug

2022. 8” h, brown stoneware. Mike, an art colleague of mine who teaches high school, likes to have a ginormous mug with eyes on his desk to “scare” his students. It doesn’t work and he often gives the mug away…

Siniyah and Vivian

2020. Buff stoneware with chromium-tin glaze. A friend commissioned sibling monsterpots for his two daughters. I’ve made many special monsterpots! Here’s an article about them.

The Green Sinner

15” x 15”, red outdoor-rated stoneware with iron and satin black glaze. An event planner and florist company in Pittsburgh PA hired me to create their building sign.

Ophanim Vessel

A ceremonial vessel built for a lovely and mysterious client. Dark brown and white stoneware, blue interior glaze; 10” x 10”. 2021.

Sinchi stamps

A couple to be married in Ecuador commissioned these stamps to be used by a traditional potter who will be making an entire set of dinnerware for their nuptials.

Major Kristal Turner-Childs

2021. 18” x 24”, oil on canvas. Commissioned for a group show, The Glass Ceiling, this is a portrait of Major Turner-Childs, first Black female Troop Commander of the Pennsylvania State Police and currently Director of Forensic Services.
