A Ceremonial Vessel

A vessel for ritual, remembrance, or release. 10.5" high x 5.5" wide.

Hand-built from dark brown stoneware using slab construction, this vessel bears a five-pointed star on each side and an all-seeing eye set into its front — a small, steady witness to whatever is placed within. Feathers stream downward across the surface in long, carved lines, as if caught mid-motion — the record of something taking flight, or something arriving. The seated lid locks into place along the cuts framing the stars, so that lid and body read as one unbroken form when closed.

A green engobe pools quietly in the vessel's carved texture, dark and deep. Inside, a satin verdigris glaze finishes the interior — new green breaking through old bronze, the color of the first thaw after a long winter. This piece carries a quiet suggestion of spring: renewal after dormancy, breath returning to something that had gone still.

Enclosed within is a ritual poem of intention and release, meant to be read and enacted as part of your own ceremonial practice — though its imagery of wind and wings leaves plenty of room to make it your own:

Face into the wind on a windy day.
Blow your intention into the vessel.
Feel it lift you and let your lungs rise.

Write your intention on a slip of paper.
Shred this into fine pieces and scatter them into the wind.

Speak: I release what is not mine to carry.
I am the Sparrow, free to be carried by my wings and the Wind.
